It was an exciting weekend for ePayMe THM Yamaha Team, as Tommy Hill announced John Hopkins as the first rider to sign with the team for the 2016 British Superbike Championship.
With the second rider due to be announced in Motorcycle News later this week, team manager Tommy Hill confirmed the partnership between ePayMe THM Yamaha Team and Hopkins at Brands Hatch on Sunday, the very place where both riders battled to the finish line for the title back in 2011. It was Hill that took the title back in 2011 by 0.06s.
The American rider Hopkins has since secured podium finishes in both the MotoGP and the MCE BSB as he works towards his on going quest to take home the title.
Hopkins experience on the track and the performance of the Yamaha R1 will be a powerful combination and something that Managing Director of ePayMe Andrew Johnston is looking forward to.
“I am delighted that John Hopkins is going to be riding for the ePayMe Yamaha team next year. John brings a huge amount of experience to the team, with an extensive career in MotoGP, World Superbikes and the British Superbikes. This combined with his serious determination, desire to succeed and a championship winning bike we feel this is a great combination and are really looking forward to the 2016 season.
We will be announcing our other rider very soon, so watch this space…….” Tommy Hill, THM Team Owner said: “I am really happy to confirm John Hopkins as part of the THM ePayMe Yamaha team next year. We have secured a great two rider line-up for next season and I believe that both riders have huge potential.”
