Government campaign plans to increase small companies awareness of their obligation surrounding auto enrolment of workers into pension schemes.
With over 47,000 medium to large employers already registered to auto enrol their workers into the workplace pension scheme since the process begun in 2012, the Government is now focusing on the 1.3 million small to micro companies with 1-49 workers, that are required to auto enrol their workers into a workplace pension scheme by 2018. The governments long-term economic plans to help workers start saving and investing in a pension, so they can enjoy the financial security during retirement, has been supported by Dragons’ Den panelist Theo Paphitis, in a new campaign called “We’re all in” . Scheduled to be broadcast over the next few weeks, it’s aim is to inform smaller employers and staff that auto enrolment for small companies is nearing. The workplace pension scheme allows any worker that earns over £10,000 a year and is at least 22 years under state pension age, to invest in regular contributions along with their employers into a workplace pension scheme, with further contributions being made by the Government through Tax-breaks. “We’re all in” campaign is due to hit our screens from Monday 6th July 2015.
