Director of Payroll Company Work Legal-E disqualified as Director
After an Insolvency Service Investigation, David Charles Allen, of payroll company ‘Work Legal-E’ , has been disqualified from acting as director, after under-declaring VAT to the value of £5million.
The sole director of Work legal-E knowingly instructed the submission of a VAT return, with the companies VAT liability at £8,417,468, but an amount of £3,417,648 was paid leaving a shortfall of £5million, though bank statements showed that the business did have the funds available to meet the required payment. Allen is no longer able to act as director or have any involvement in the management of a company for an 11 year period, from 5 June 2015.
There have been previous questions raised surrounding the Tax arrangements of other companies that David Charles Allen has been involved in, including contractor payroll provider ‘Legitas’ where Allen acted as Chief Executive back in April 2013. During a standard HMRC audit of Legitas questions were raise with regards to the company’s payment models.
In 26 July 2013 Work Legal-E was placed into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation, with Allen being the sole director of the company, leaving debts owed to HM Revenue & Customs of over £43million.
