It has been mentioned that Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has submitted a claim to the liquidators of Employ-E for £58 million in unpaid TAX, and penalties of their contractors. Employ-E is the second company owned by David Allen which has gone into liquidation in recent weeks, with Legitas Group Limited being passed over to the liquidators at the end of May this year. Fortunately, the 60,000 employees who were temporary workers employed by Employ-E throughout the UK were paid for their assignments before the liquidators were brought in, but others haven’t been so fortunate in the past, when other payroll companies have been in a similar situation.
