With many still thinking IR35 will be delayed on ‘Tax Day’ the 23rd March, reports show no signs of IR35 being a topic of conversation. Tax Day is for the Government to publish tax consultations as part of their 10 year administration strategy, to create a tax system fit for the 21st Century.
Part of these consultations will include false CJRS claims, which HMRC have already written to 27,000 claimants where there is a high risk that what they have claimed is incorrect. The action and criminal investigation is reported to be included within the policy.
It is fair to say, any further delay is very slim this close to the deadline.
Agencies and end hirers now face a busy few weeks trying to implement a payroll solution for their workforce to prevent any complications and delays in assignments and payroll from 6th April 2021.
Contractors contacting multiple payroll providers looking for the best deal leaving the process to the very last minute ‘just in case’ anything changes.
Those affected by the IR35 changes will need to consider, aside from looking for a new payroll process, they may have to wind up or dissolve their limited company if their profession falls inside of the IR35 legislation. However, many have chosen to keep their limited companies operating in the event a contract is accepted which falls outside of the rules.
The countdown is well and truly on and our advice to any agencies and contractors still needing payroll services is to ACT NOW! Choosing your payroll partner can be tough and you need to do what is best for your business and workforce to provide continuity for the end client.
We would recommend you look for a Professional Passport approved provider. Professional Passport ensure payroll providers are compliant and audit more than HMRC tax rules, to ensure all relevant legislations are adhered to as well and being the only insurance backed accreditation. ePayMe have been accredited with Professional Passport for more than three years and receive an annual review and a full audit to remain fully compliant.
With the country still in lockdown, we are currently holding Zoom meetings with new and existing clients to project manage the transition period and hold training meetings with consultants to answer any questions and cover our services.
