- IR35
- Autumn Statement
- Public Sector (let’s not forget the Private Sector)
- April 6th legislative change
- Apprenticeship Levy
Not only have the above words been searched countless times on google, been on a plethora of agendas, they remain areas constantly being discussed.
No longer a question of when or if the changes will be implemented or even delayed, the legislative landscape has changed – with changes implemented 6/4/17. If you’re not on the front foot now, there is still time, but, you need to act – AND FAST.
ePayMe, Platinum Partner with The Recruitment Network (TRN), recently discussed this at TRN’s quarterly huddle at OXO, London. With over 70 agency owners, decision makers and influencers in the room, the silence spoke volumes. The Chancellors announced changes in the Autumn Statement are, and continue to send more than a ripple effect across the recruitment and contractor/temporary worker, market.
Given the extent of change to the public sector, you may expect that discussions focussed on the Public Sector. To the contrary, of course, those operating within the Public Sector have much to do, most importantly ensuring workers have a viable, compliant and robust payment vehicle in place to ensure earnings are not impacted given the changes to operating PSC/Ltd Co. within the Public Sector (given many workers are now deemed inside IR35 and/or many Public Sector bodies are imposing blanket bans on workers operating anything other than Umbrella or internal PAYE. Rest assured, the Private Sector did not go unnoticed, with owners fearing an exodus of skill and labour (from the Public Sector) along with many other things, including, how long will the Private Sector remain “immune”.
Whilst, the legislative changes have now been implemented, if you, whether Agency or Worker, are not engaged with a trusted, reputable and credible outsourced payroll provider, it is not too late. But, the clock is ticking. Understandably, given margin compression, managing payroll in-house, isn’t favourable (don’t forget the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy, which you will need to account for).
The outsourced option is often time-consuming and there is a clear risk of allowing workers to determine their provider. ePayMe, can help– speak to one of the team on 01252 863 700 to find out more.
Whilst we are moving into the summer months, expect more unpredictable “weather” – keep your Umbrella handy. More importantly, one you trust, one that puts you, your workers, and your business at the core of what they do.
Umbrella continues to be a compliant, robust solution, with longevity for your workers (irrespective of IR35).
For those workers, outside of IR35 and operating solely in the Private Sector, ePayMe also offer a three-tiered Ltd Co. solution. We have the bases covered. Do you? If not, ACT NOW.
