This Halloween, spirits have been accidentally released and are roaming the Tower of London. It is your job to save and protect the tower.
Families guide themselves around the “haunted” trail with help from live actors, breaking codes and solving problems.
The Cryptid Safari Halloween Trail, Waddesdon Manor, Aylesbury
For this adventure, kids will be provided with a map to direct them through the woods. They will encounter mythical creatures such as fairies, dragons and trolls! However, can you find them all?
If you’re really lucky you might even come across the Safari Rangers. They are often out and about tending to the beasts and keeping those pesky fairies at bay.
If the creature finding leaves you with an appetite, you can enjoy a spooky afternoon tea. With ghost meringues, a mummified gingerbread man, spooky jelly snake, eyeballs and brains! Enjoyable for the kids and the adults.
Halloween trail at Hampton Court Palace, Richmond

Stumble across palace ghosts and ghouls in a brand new self-guided trail. Uncover the tales of Catherine Howard in her chambers, a grey cloaked lady named Sybil Penn, haunted portraits of the damned, and many more…
This Halloween, come and discover some of the strange happenings which give Hampton Court Palace its spooky reputation. In addition, courtyards and cloisters will be decked with Halloween decorations. This includes intricately carved pumpkins and creepy cobwebs!
Fountains by Floodlight, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, North Yorkshire
This remarkable historic attraction sees the Abbey illuminated after dark!
As you wander the abbey, founded by Benedictine monks, in 1132, you can listen to the sounds of a choir or band performing in the Cellarium.
Furthermore, peckish visitors can head over to the local pop-up eateries in Mill Yard across from the abbey.
Dark Arts season at “The Making of Harry Potter”, Watford
Warner Bros Studios’ blockbuster Harry Potter exhibition has undergone a spooky makeover. From now until early November its Dark Arts theme returns.
Possibly the most exciting update, the Great Hall is now filled with a hundred flickering, flying Jack-o’-Lanterns.
Elsewhere, there’s a special limited edition passport, plus Death Eaters galore: wandering around looking menacing. In addition, they will perform interesting demonstrations of everything from their wand stance, their choreography and their costumes.
Terrible Thames Tour, London
An enjoyable hour-long clipper tour that focuses on the dark, humorous sites along London’s great waterway.
The tour introduces two actors, who consequently spend the trip engaged in a duelling dialogue of facts. A zippy, agreeable barrage of statistics and facts tumble out entertainingly. As a result, customers get a sense of the vast weight of the history of London in a way that’s intriguing.
