HMRC are currently requesting that all parents with high incomes, that receive Child Benefit must submit their TAX returns by the 31st January or they may be a risk of facing penalties.
This appeal is focussed on parents who’s income is above £50,000 and still receive Child Benefit as of the 7th January 2013. As they may be required to pay a TAX charge, based on their salary and the amount of benefits received during 2012-2013 TAX year. Parents are required to register online for Self Assessment via the HMRC website. Please visit the following page and follow the instructions. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/signup (Please be aware that the registration process can take up to 7 working days, due to the requirement of an activation code that is sent out via post.) Once you are all set up, simply log on where you will then be able to file a return, please ensure this is completed before 31st January 2014. This is also the cut off for all TAX owed during the TAX year of 2012-2013. HMRC Chief Executive Lin Homer said: “The registration process is easy. We know that many parents are newcomers to Self Assessment, so it is really important they register and online to avoid getting a penalty.” – Sourced from www.cipp.org.uk Click Here to read full article https://www.epayme.co.uk/pdfs/self-assessment.pdf
