It’s the dawn of a new financial year and with it comes new opportunities. In spite of the ongoing pandemic we managed to have a successful 2020 and as a result we continue to expanded our team. We are pleased to introduce our newly appointed Marketing Manager, Natashia da Silva. Natashia joined us on the 15th March and will be heading up the Marketing department.
With over 13 year’s experience, we are thrilled to have Natashia on board. Natashia comes to us from South Africa where she worked as Head of Marketing for EcoTraining Guides and Guardians, contributing to the brand success as one of the industry leaders in wildlife training in Africa.
An accomplished and all-encompassing marketing professional, she’ll bring a fresh perspective and approach to our already thriving business.
To get to know Natashia better, we asked her a few questions.
Tell us a little about yourself?
Having grown up on the sunny beach coast of Durban in South Africa, I absolutely love all things water related. I later moved to Johannesburg where I married my husband Filipe and share everything with him (ok, most things since he can be a fussy eater) including a lovely 5-month-old boy. I have a real fear of heights and flying but love travelling which makes for interesting trips and this keeps my other half entertained. I’m a real foodie, I love cooking, feeding people (even when they are not hungry), hosting and being with good company. I have enjoyed a great career in tourism and conservation before moving to the UK. I have spent the last decade developing my skills and continue to do so as a marketing manager in this constantly evolving industry.
What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?
Before having my son, my answer would have been having a glass (or bottle) of wine, cooking (eating more), hosting and spending some time with friends (and Netflix)…
Now after having my son, my answer is… taking off my mask. Spending time with my son (and husband), travelling, sleeping in and watching a movie from start to end without interruption. (Sadly, the last 3 I still need to achieve).
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am terrible at remembering important dates! So much so that my husband engraved on my wedding ring the year we met, got engaged and got married just so I would not forget.
What is your biggest achievement?
My family and surviving COVID.
