Since the Agency Legislation update in April 2014 - HMRC have published advice surrounding the changes. The new legislation requires workers to be the subject of a right to control within an assignment to make them an employee and for the agency to be held responsible for operating PAYE (Pay As You Earn) payments. Employment Law Update
Over the next coming months we are due to see the Government's proposed changes to employment law, put into place. The first change that you may already be aware of is the National Minimum Wage increase. Approved back in March this year, the increase is scheduled to take place 1st October 2014. Government removes NEST restrictions – Payroll World News – Pensions
- Payroll World reports Restriction on annual contributions into NEST will be lifted from 1 April 2017, pensions Minister Steve Webb has announced. The cap currently limits the maximum annual contribution into NEST to £4,600 and the transfers of funds – such as from a person’s previous pension – are forbidden.
