AUCAE launch survey urging contractors to have their voice heard.
As a proud member of industry body All Umbrella Companies Are Equal, we would urge you to take just a few minutes of your time to read the below and voice your opinion!
In the Budget 2013, the government announced new rules to tackle tax avoidance, however what was to come next nobody anticipated…
On 16th December 2014, in an effort to crack down on tax avoidance, HMRC published a discussion document on Employment Intermediaries: Temporary Workers – Relief for Travel & Subsistence Expenses which left the industry dazed and confused about what impact the changes could have on such a valuable and transient workforce.
The industry was invited to respond to the proposed changes that were announced in the Autumn Statement 2014 that would review the use of the Over-Arching Contract of Employment by Employment Intermediaries in the temporary labour market used to take “advantage” of the rules for travel and subsistence expenses. The industry response to the discussion document was vast and detailed, however what AUCAE noticed, was that the voice of the highly skilled, temporary workforce in the UK that this will potentially affect does not appear to have been heard.
So do you, the contractor, want the opportunity to be heard? AUCAE are looking to respond to the announcements made in the Budget 2015 and they are asking YOU, the contractor, to be part of that. We want the contractors’ voices to be heard so that the Government and HMRC gain a full understanding of the sector and the integral role that contractors’ play in keeping the economy moving in the right direction. AUCAE have confirmed that all responses will be included in any submissions that we make to HMRC as an industry body.
